This uses the very helpful conversion functions written for the s3 lsa server
and places these in common.

This library was tiny - containing just two public functions than were
themselves trivial. The amount of overhead this causes isn't really worth the
benefits of sharing the code with other projects like OpenChange. In addition, this code
isn't really generically useful anyway, as it can only load from the module path
set for Samba at configure time.
Adding a new library was breaking the API/ABI anyway, so OpenChange had to be
updated to cope with the new situation one way or another. I've added a simpler
(compatible) routine for loading modules to OpenChange, which is less than 100 lines of code.

It is importante to not use the database backend implementation
in the upgrade. Otherwise this would only work as long as this
is the newset version. In future versions of the registry, this
(then) intermediate upgrade step would change in behaviour and not
work as expected any more.

This allows smb.conf files from either the samba3 or samba4 tradition
to come to the same value of server role, using the information in the
smb.conf file.
This is important so that tools like 'net getlocalsid' work against a
Samba4 AD installation (yes, users have tried this).

This will allow OpenChange to get at the symbols it needs, without
exposing any more of this as a public API than we must.

We no longer need this, as all the small test binaries have either
been converted rolled into python bindings and python-subunit tests, or have
been moved into smbtorture.

Because we no longer use safe_strcpy() internally, we no longer have a
mode where we write to the end of the buffer in developer mode, and so
there isn't anything for this test to test.

smbiconv is not used in any test script, and has only had changes
since being introduced by Jelmer to keep it building.
It is also not installed on the system. I have also checked with
Jelmer, who approved the removal.

It sems like every not completely trivial sed expression should be tested with
Solaris' sed. Its regexp engine is way more limited than the one of GNU
sed. Thanks to Michael Pelletier for finding this! This fixes bug #8531

This uses the top level gensec_ntlmssp helper functions which are identical
to the parts of ntlmssp_wrap.c that are now not called.

Some Kerberos libraries don't do proper failover. This fixes the situation
where a KDC exists in DNS but is not reachable for some reason.

This avoids needing to manually sync the two files, which due to the
top level build must be API compatible at all times anyway.
The most important recent change was:

ldb: fixed a search expression parse bug
However, as we always control the search expression in the callers to
this code, no backport to other releases is required.

Now that the 'table' modules are gone, there is no reason for there to
be charset modules at all. This builds the macosxfs and weird modules
into the binary at the appropriate times, and changes the tests to
test instead the difference between the remaining internal handlers
and iconv().

These modules are now known to be faulty, and Samba 3.6.0 didn't
include support for them, so we now require a system iconv if you wish
to support these character sets for the non-ASCII range.
