2007-10-18RIP BOOL. Convert BOOL -> bool. I found a few interestingJeremy Allison1-48/+48
bugs in various places whilst doing this (places that assumed BOOL == int). I also need to fix the Samba4 pidl generation (next checkin). Jeremy. (This used to be commit f35a266b3cbb3e5fa6a86be60f34fe340a3ca71f)
2007-10-10Add start of IPv6 implementation. Currently most of this is avoidingJeremy Allison1-3/+5
IPv6 in winbindd, but moves most of the socket functions that were wrongly in lib/util.c into lib/util_sock.c and provides generic IPv4/6 independent versions of most things. Still lots of work to do, but now I can see how I'll fix the access check code. Nasty part that remains is the name resolution code which is used to returning arrays of in_addr structs. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 3f6bd0e1ec5cc6670f3d08f76fc2cd94c9cd1a08)

2007-10-10r23997: Check in the infrastructure for getting rid of the global ↵Volker Lendecke1-0/+4
InBuffer/OutBuffer The complete history of this patch can be found under http://www.samba.org/~vlendec/inbuf-checkin/. Jeremy, Jerry: If possible I would like to see this in 3.2.0. I'm only checking into 3_2 at the moment, as it currently will slow down operations for all non-converted (i.e. all at this moment) operations, as it will copy the talloc'ed inbuf over the global InBuffer. It will need quite a bit of effort to convert everything necessary for the normal operations an XP box does. I have patches for negprot, session setup, tcon_and_X, open_and_X, close. More to come, but I would appreciate some help here. Volker (This used to be commit 5594af2b208c860d3f4b453af6a649d9e4295d1c)

2007-10-10r23724: Reduce access to the global inbuf a tiny bit. Add a struct smb_requestVolker Lendecke1-0/+7
that contains some of the fields from the SMB header, removing the need to access inbuf directly. This right now is used only in the open file code & friends, and creating that header is only done when needed. This needs more work, but it is a start. Jeremy, I'm only checking this into 3_0, please review before I merge it to _26. Volker (This used to be commit ca988f4e79e977160d82e86486972afd15d4acf5)
2007-10-10r23410: Merge the core of the cluster code.Volker Lendecke1-0/+4
I'm 100% certain I've forgotten to merge something, but the main code should be in. It's mainly in dbwrap_ctdb.c, ctdbd_conn.c and messages_ctdbd.c. There should be no changes to the non-cluster case, it does survive make test on my laptop. It survives some very basic tests with ctdbd enables, I did not do the full test suite for clusters yet. Phew... Volker (This used to be commit 15553d6327a3aecdd2b0b94a3656d04bf4106323)

2007-10-10r23183: Check in a change made by Tridge:Volker Lendecke1-7/+4
This replaces the internal explicit dev/ino file id representation by a "struct file_id". This is necessary as cluster file systems and NFS don't necessarily assign the same device number to the shared file system. With this structure in place we can now easily add different schemes to map a file to a unique 64-bit device node. Jeremy, you might note that I did not change the external interface of smb_share_modes.c. Volker (This used to be commit 9b10dbbd5de8813fc15ebbb6be9b18010ffe8139)
2007-10-10r23163: Convert locking.tdb to dbwrapVolker Lendecke1-0/+1

2007-10-10r23100: Implement the delete on close semantics I've just tested forJeremy Allison1-1/+2

2007-10-10r23055: Rewrite messages.c to use auto-generated marshalling in the tdb. I'mVolker Lendecke1-3/+2
doing this because for the clustering the marshalling is needed in more than one place, so I wanted a decent routine to marshall a message_rec struct which was not there before. Tridge, this seems about the same speed as it used to be before, the librpc/ndr overhead in my tests was under the noise. Volker (This used to be commit eaefd00563173dfabb7716c5695ac0a2f7139bb6)

2007-10-10r21714: Change the VFS interface to use struct timespecJeremy Allison1-2/+2
for utimes - change the call to ntimes. This preserves nsec timestamps we get from stat (if the system supports it) and only maps back down to usec or sec resolution on time set. Looks bigger than it is as I had to move lots of internal code from using time_t and struct utimebuf to struct timespec. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 8f3d530c5a748ea90f42ed8fbe68ae92178d4875)

2007-10-10r21250: Partial fix for BUG 4093: Make %a expand to "Vista"Gerald Carter1-1/+3
based on the flags2 values in the negprot request. This also includes some code for testing the dialect strings for "SMB 2.001" but this is unreliable as Vista only sends that in the 1st negprot and caches the fact that we don't support it. Restartnig the WOrkstation service on the client clears the cache. (This used to be commit d781eeb0e4362b7af1497634d26315498a5257d4)
2007-10-10r21191: Add in the POSIX open/mkdir/unlink calls.Jeremy Allison1-11/+16

2007-10-10r20931: This changes the notify infrastructure from a polling-based to an ↵Volker Lendecke1-6/+12
event-driven based approach. The only remaining hook into the backend is now void *(*notify_add)(TALLOC_CTX *mem_ctx, struct event_context *event_ctx, files_struct *fsp, uint32 *filter); (Should we put this through the VFS, so that others can more easily plug in?) The trick here is that the backend can pick filter bits that the main smbd should not handle anymore. Thanks to tridge for this idea. The backend can notify the main smbd process via void notify_fsp(files_struct *fsp, uint32 action, char *name); The core patch is not big, what makes this more than 1800 lines are the individual backends that are considerably changed but can be reviewed one by one. Based on this I'll continue with inotify now. Volker (This used to be commit 9cd6a8a82792b7b6967141565d043b6337836a5d)
2007-10-10r20883: W00t! I now understand how "delete on close" reallyJeremy Allison1-2/+1
works - even with the strange "initial delete on close" semantics. The "initial delete on close" flag isn't committed to the share mode db until the handle is closed, and is discarded if any real "delete on close" was set. This allows me to remove the "initial_delete_on_close" flag from the share db, and move it into a BOOL in files_struct. Warning ! You must do a make clean after this. Cope with the wrinkle in directory delete on close which is done differently from files. We now pass all Samba4 smbtortute BASE-DELETE tests except for the one checking that files can't be created in a directory which has the delete on close set (possibly expensive to fix). Jeremy. (This used to be commit f2df77a1497958c1ea791f1d2f4446b5fc3389b3)

2007-10-10r20442: Slight rewrite of the change notify infrastructure. This now ↵Volker Lendecke1-6/+35
survives the first of the raw-notify subtests, the one-level test_notify_dir without any flags around yet. The tricky part was getting the data structures right, I hope the next tests don't let that fall over. fsp->notify is now by default NULL, meaning that nobody has issued a changenotify call. This means nobody is interested in changes for this directory. If that has happened, notify_change_buf collects the changes if no current request is outstanding, and it collects the requests if no change has happened since the last request. Happy New Year, somewhere on this planet it's already 2007 :-) Volker P.S: Jeremy, there's a question for you in smbd/files.c line 367.
