2001-07-04strchr and strrchr are macros when compiling with optimisation in gcc, so we ↵Andrew Tridgell1-4/+4
can't redefine them. damn. (This used to be commit c41fc06376d1a2b83690612304e85010b5e5f3cf)
2001-07-04The big character set handling changeover!Andrew Tridgell1-2/+2
This commit gets rid of all our old codepage handling and replaces it with iconv. All internal strings in Samba are now in "unix" charset, which may be multi-byte. See internals.doc and my posting to samba-technical for a more complete explanation. (This used to be commit debb471267960e56005a741817ebd227ecfc512a)
2000-12-07file_lines_load/file_lines_pload can now optionally convert unix_to_dos()Jeremy Allison1-2/+2
on read. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 76b8dd376d13eb4469417be217c966d54d333367)
2000-04-16converted a bunch more functions to use a fd instead of a FILE*Andrew Tridgell1-42/+41
to support some of this I added the following functions in util_file.c file_lines_pload : load lines from a pipe file_pload : load a pipe into memory (This used to be commit a09470817c5b21dba42f9ef4ce5e8b768a254c0b)
2000-03-16Fixes to add "paranoid" option to popen. Checks some basic things.Jeremy Allison1-1/+1
Jeremy (This used to be commit 3b8cbb10de322fd7a1063fb5b681790b10d24ab0)
2000-02-15Added replacement functions sys_popen and sys_pclose. These are basedJeremy Allison1-6/+2
on the glibc source code and are safer than the traditional popen as they don't use a shell to exec the requested command. Now we have these functions they can be tightened up (environment etc.) as required to make a safe popen. It should now be safe to add the environement variable loading code to loadparm.c Jeremy. (This used to be commit b52e92b09d4ca3b66e534f520468dee27065d048)
2000-01-29Wrapped popen calls in HAVE_POPEN - needed if we are to add theJeremy Allison1-0/+4
env patch. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 94c075faee88538e48d1898f1694500b8a5d4c8b)
1999-12-13first pass at updating head branch to be to be the same as the SAMBA_2_0 branchAndrew Tridgell1-2/+15

1998-09-05some cleanups to use ZERO_STRUCT() and friendsAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
(This used to be commit 7b154dc4313324dfad6cf0117b8ce246bf12bf16)
1998-04-13Changes to allow Samba to be compiled with -Wstrict-prototypesJeremy Allison1-2/+2
with gcc. (Not a big change although it looks like it :-). Jeremy. (This used to be commit cd2613c57261456485fe4eeecfda209ada70de8e)
1998-01-30fix bug when using lpstat as printcap file - remove space at start ofHerb Lewis1-1/+1
printer names generated (This used to be commit 8f48a0571a4dda282bd3438e54a029400b7ca448)
1998-01-22This is *not* a big change (although it looks like one).Jeremy Allison1-2/+2
This is merely updating the Copyright statements from 1997 to 1998. It's a once a year thing :-). NO OTHER CHANGES WERE MADE. Jeremy. (This used to be commit b9c16977231efb274e08856f7f3f4408dad6d96c)

interface.c: Added netmask fix. nmbd_nameregister.c: Fixed unitialised variable warnings. nmbd_winsproxy.c: Fixed unitialised variable warnings. nmbd_winsserver.c: Fixed DEC warnings. print_svid.c: Fixed DEC warnings. printing.c: Added LPRng fixes. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 28aff043c4a3693a0c20e87c7ce11eb4bf285b78)
1997-12-03applied a patch from Norm Jacobs to allow "printcap name = lpstat"Andrew Tridgell1-0/+121
to use lpstat to obtain the printer list on systemV systems. I've now made this the default on all SYSV systems. Jeremy, you were a little worried about the security of this patch. I believe it's OK as the user has no control over the options given to popen() and the pipe is only open for reading. (This used to be commit 6a83de0ae954bb18d3f15382f2b0b3259fedff09)
