2003-10-30First round of merging various UUID structures.Jim McDonough1-2/+3
This eliminates RPC_UUID. It creates the following struct: struct uuid { uint32 time_low; uint16 time_mid; uint16 time_hi_and_version; uint8 clock_seq[2]; uint8 node[6]; }; which replaces RPC_UUID and various random struct uuid definitions and a flat version: #define UUID_FLAT_SIZE 16 typedef struct uuid_flat { uint8 info[UUID_FLAT_SIZE]; } UUID_FLAT; which pretty much looks like GUID (which I will start eliminating). I want us to use the FLAT one only on the wire (perhaps in files, too?), and I want it to be obvious to the coder that it is the FLAT version. This leaves a couple of compiler warnings, where GUID isn't completely replaced by FLAT_UUID yet...I'll get to those soon. (This used to be commit 1532b5d2e3c61df232b16394acedf6eac387588b)

cache the printer_info_2 with the open printer handle. cache is invalidated on a mod_a_printer() call **on that smbd**. Yes, this means that the window for admins to step on each other from different clients just got larger, but since handles a generally short lived this is probably ok. 2003-02-17This patch fixes one of my longest-standing pet hates with Samba :-).Andrew Bartlett1-2/+2
When we look see if a user is in a list, and we try to 'expand' an @group, we should lookup the user's own list of groups, rather than looking for all the members of a group. I'm sure this will fix some nasty performance issues, particularly on large domains etc. In particular, this avoids contacting winbind at all, if the group is not a winbind group. (This caused a deadlock on my winbind-on-PDC setup). The groups list always includes the user's primary group, as per the getgrouplist manpage, and my recent changes to our implementation. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 9be21976f7662ebe6eb92fff7cecbdb352eca334)

2003-01-17This removes the 3rd argument from init_unistr2(). There were 240Andrew Tridgell1-1/+1
calls to init_unistr2() in the code and every one of them got the 3rd argument incorrect, so I thought it best just to remove the argument. The incorrect usage was caused by callers using strlen() to determine the length of the string. The 3rd argument to init_unistr2() was supposed to be the character length, not the byte length of the string, so for non-english this could come out wrong. I also removed the bogus 'always allocate at least 256 bytes' hack. There may be some code that relies on this, but if there is then the code is broken and needs fixing. (This used to be commit b9eff31b1433c81fbff733e194914a40f25e3bda)

2003-01-02BIG patch...Andrew Bartlett1-15/+15
This patch makes Samba compile cleanly with -Wwrite-strings. - That is, all string literals are marked as 'const'. These strings are always read only, this just marks them as such for passing to other functions. What is most supprising is that I didn't need to change more than a few lines of code (all in 'net', which got a small cleanup of net.h and extern variables). The rest is just adding a lot of 'const'. As far as I can tell, I have not added any new warnings - apart from making all of tdbutil.c's function const (so they warn for adding that const string to struct). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 92a777d0eaa4fb3a1c7835816f93c6bdd456816d)
