2003-07-18make sure we don't allow the creation of directories containingAndrew Tridgell1-1/+5
wildcard characters. I've only put this in mkdir at the moment, but I suspect this will apply to all places that can create new filenames. We need to allow the opening of existing filenames that contain wildcards, but not allow the creation of new ones. (This used to be commit 2fd5569938b8970f3e9d761eecad5bc0b8bb267e)

2003-05-14Prefix VFS API macros with SMB_ for consistency and to avoid problems with ↵Alexander Bokovoy1-27/+27
VFS_ macros at system side. We currently have one clash with AIX and its VFS_LOCK. Compiled and tested -- no new functionality or code, just plain rename of macros for yet-unreleased VFS API version. Needs to be done before a24 is out (This used to be commit c2689ed118b490e49497a76ed6a2251262018769)

2003-04-23Merge the 'safe' parts of my StrnCpy patch - many of the users really wantedAndrew Bartlett1-1/+1
a pstrcpy/fstrcpy or at most a safe_strcpy(). These have the advantage of being compiler-verifiable. Get these out of the way, along with a rewrite of 'get_short_archi' in the spoolss client and server. (This pushes around const string pointers, rather than copied strings). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 32fb801ddc035e8971e9911ed4b6e51892e9d1cc)

2003-03-18Jeremy merged across my string parinoia fixes, but forgot to enable them! :-)Andrew Bartlett1-1/+1
This patch catches up on the rest of the work - as much string checking as is possible is done at compile time, and the rest at runtime. Lots of code converted to pstrcpy() etc, and other code reworked to correctly call sizeof(). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit c5b604e2ee67d74241ae2fa07ae904647d35a2be)
2003-03-18Add an extra parameter to our 'set_remote_machine_name' andAndrew Bartlett1-2/+2

2002-12-03Fixed nasty bug where file writes with start offsets in the rangeJeremy Allison1-13/+14
0x80000000 -> 0xFFFFFFFF would fail as they were being cast from IVAL (uint32) to SMB_OFF_T (off_t or off64_t, both *signed* types). The sign extension would cause the offset to be treated as negative. Thanks to Herb for helping me track this one down (IRIX is good for large file tests :-). Jeremy. PS. 2002-03-13include/smb_macros.h: Don't round up an allocation if the size is zero.Jeremy Allison1-5/+7
"One of these locks is not like the others... One of these locks is not quite the same" :-). When is a zero timeout lock not zero ? When it's being processed by Windows 2000 of course.. This code change, ugly though it is - completely fixes the foxpro/access multi-user file system database problems that people have been having. I used a *wonderful* test program donated by "Gerald Drouillard" <gerald@drouillard.ca> which allowed me to completely reproduce this problem, and to finally determine the correct fix. This also explains why Windows 2000 is *so slow* when responding to the smbtorture lock tests. I *love* it when all these things come together and finally make sense :-). Jeremy. (This used to be commit 8aa9860ea2ea7f5aed4b6aa12794fffdfa81b0d0)
