2007-10-10r1866: Fix for bug #1602 reported by <m.proehl@science-computing.de>.Jeremy Allison1-2/+6
Access to a share with wide links = No follow symlinks = No Was failing with access denied. Jeremy. (This used to be commit c137accb25c928551ce666e8c7cfbbcaa60ad771)
2007-10-10r1841: Fix for #1606, can't launch dos exe's.Jeremy Allison1-2/+2
2 related problems - 1). DOS uses chained commands - when we are replying with sendfile we neglect to send the chained header. 2). Win9x and DOS TCP stacks blow up when getting data back from a Linux sendfile - "The engines canna take the strain cap'n". Don't use sendfile for anything less than NT1. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 3cd88f48afa589a189bb728d2d2660d058203d4d)
2007-10-10r1681: Ensure we return the same ACL revision on the wire that W2K3 does.Jeremy Allison1-1/+1
Jeremy. (This used to be commit 31505acf033c7d76592bb5b4ef80b29a00658c49)
2007-10-10r1665: Patch from James Peach @ SGI to stop using sendfile if it isn'tJeremy Allison1-2/+6
supported by the underlying OS. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 1b0c70cf97aa45093fe5ef866a351b47ef1a5879)
2007-10-10r1661: Changed the password history format so that each history entryJeremy Allison1-7/+13
consists of a 16 byte salt, followed by the 16 byte MD5 hash of the concatination of the salt plus the NThash of the historical password. Allows these to be exposed in LDAP without security issues. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 82e4036aaa2d283534a5bd8149857320fcf0d0dc)
2007-10-10r1570: merging changes from 3.0.5Gerald Carter5-17/+15
(This used to be commit 430cf63b9148441bce42bfb15a8045de5da108f4)
2007-10-10r1531: smbd/tdbutil.c isn't used anymore. Bug 1443 is suspected to be a tdbVolker Lendecke1-85/+0
corruption problem, and smbd_log_tdb happily destoyed the evidence .... Volker (This used to be commit 359b9dcffeb66146c5405f8022d5d4e4a833aa51)
2007-10-10r1506: Fix inspired by patches from Michael Collin Nielsen ↵Jeremy Allison1-11/+15
<michael@hum.aau.dk> - ensure home directory service number is correctly reused. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 9d6347be8580d092cda0357b5d1a81fc6876ac1f)
2007-10-10r1492: Rework our random number generation system.Andrew Bartlett1-5/+6
On systems with /dev/urandom, this avoids a change to secrets.tdb for every fork(). For other systems, we now only re-seed after a fork, and on startup. No need to do it per-operation. This removes the 'need_reseed' parameter from generate_random_buffer(). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 36741d3cf53a7bd17d361251f2bb50851cdb035f)
2007-10-10r1472: Make mknod work again for the CIFS client. Still needs someJeremy Allison1-10/+29
client changes. With this, storing home directories on a Samba share that require unix domain socket entries should work. Jeremy. (This used to be commit da943b5b72090e23c1cf67c3449b8e33344643f8)
2007-10-10r1414: Memory leak fixes found by valgrind whilst checking the password ↵Jeremy Allison1-2/+6
history code. Error code paths were not freeing up some memory. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 7c4666e56c2c281e023c6483459cb9e8d4787d36)
2007-10-10r1388: Adding password history code for ldap backend, based on a patch fromJeremy Allison1-10/+75
"Jianliang Lu" <j.lu@tiesse.com>. Multi-string attribute changed to linearised pstring due to ordering issues. A few other changes to fix race conditions. I will add the tdb backend code next. This code compiles but has not yet been tested with password history policy set to greater than zero. Targeted for 3.0.6. Jeremy. (This used to be commit dd54b2a3c45e202e504ad69d170eb798da4e6fc9)
2007-10-10r1375: When setting writable=yes in smb.conf and only allow read access in theVolker Lendecke1-0/+7
security descriptor, allow read access. The code failed in this case. Jeremy, could you please cross-check this? The way I understood your code it could only work if smb.conf and secdesc said the same. This made the use of srvmgr a bit difficult.... What was your intention on how to use the share_info.tdb? The current code might check the secdesc twice, but I don't see any decent way around it that does not completely clutter the code. Volker (This used to be commit 7c673bd910e1fcbbf07198f38ceddd81e9064c11)
2007-10-10r1370: BUG 1297 - prevent map_username() from being called twice during logonGerald Carter1-0/+2
(This used to be commit e1364ff774b62f46c0f50864695da49972352126)
2007-10-10r1333: NFS Quota support from Dan Peterson.Richard Sharpe1-1/+203
(This used to be commit 609828444d9126d8a6e8ff43e4b3c19079a9eb56)
2007-10-10r1325: Always use GetTimeOfDay() (wrapper). Ensure ldap replicationJeremy Allison1-2/+2
sleep time is not more than 5 seconds. Should fix issue reported by Chris Garrigues <cwg@deepeddy.com>. Jeremy. (This used to be commit fbc06831d3a7e8645409158ee1ae1f9f192913a7)
2007-10-10r1314: Restore the 2.2 'force unknown acl user' parameter. When getting a ↵Volker Lendecke1-19/+23
security descriptor for a file, if the owner sid is not known, the owner uid is set to the current uid. Same for group sid. This makes xcopy /o possible for files that are owned by local users/groups (local administrators for example). Thanks to Guenther for his persistence :-) Volker (This used to be commit 80e57d27909a9a1edad962e3f43c2178d2da2a92)
2007-10-10r1311: Turn on sendfile for non-oplocked files. tridge provedJeremy Allison1-8/+10
this is the correct thing to do on a train in Germany :-). Turn on sendfile by default ! It's about time..... Jeremy. (This used to be commit ec614a8f7d158b57f5981c1515962aca3c3e6ef4)
2007-10-10r1304: Turns out non-io opens that cause oplock breaks are a *different* setJeremy Allison1-2/+2
of desired access flags from those that cause sharing violations. Oplock breaks are caused by : ~(SYNCHRONIZE_ACCESS|FILE_READ_ATTRIBUTES|FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES) Sharing violations are caused by : ~(SYNCHRONIZE_ACCESS|READ_CONTROL_ACCESS|FILE_READ_ATTRIBUTES|FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES) We now pass the torture rename test again. I still need to work out if subsequent opens will cause sharing violations with an existing open mode of SYNCHRONIZE_ACCESS|READ_CONTROL_ACCESS|FILE_READ_ATTRIBUTES|FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES; Jeremy. (This used to be commit 38002bfc1c0981a2dba3f2319624c1ef055a3648)
2007-10-10r1301: Fix bogus error message when using "mangling method = hash" ratherJeremy Allison1-2/+4
than hash2. We are already calculating lengths so just use memcpy not safe_strcpy(). Jeremy. (This used to be commit a5a3df78531dc5400088e1746d6a7cd29f56a714)
2007-10-10r1263: Make "defer sharing violations" a global parameter.Jeremy Allison3-2/+28
Jeremy. (This used to be commit 42cdeccc36dc5f4bd133b84d4eaeb76f42f8043b)
2007-10-10r1260: Added new parameter in the protocol section. "defer sharing violations",Jeremy Allison1-0/+8
by default set to "yes" (to correctly emulate Windows). I've added this to ensure if we find a critical problem with this new code when 3.0.5 ships it can be turned off to test for bugs. Jeremy. (This used to be commit bee0619cc476335e19a5f76179832802587563d1)
2007-10-10r1259: Ensure we pass Samba4 RAW-RENAME test.Jeremy Allison1-9/+165
Jeremy. (This used to be commit 756a00431105cf6349feb80a46b6f55a30eb3973)
2007-10-10r1257: Ensure we deferr a sharing violation on rename correctly.Jeremy Allison1-1/+11
Jeremy. (This used to be commit b52a04a5cdcea83c99805181241c8c0760bcc22e)
2007-10-10r1255: Ensure we check attributes correctly on rename request. Gets us ↵Jeremy Allison2-7/+12
further with Samba4 RAW-RENAME test. Jeremy. (This used to be commit f17382ad8ad7211bbd34c823d88936a83dceb940)
2007-10-10r1154: Change default setting for case sensitivity to "auto". If set to autoJeremy Allison7-16/+48
then is the client supports it (current clients supported are Samba and CIFSVFS - detected by the negprot strings "Samba", "POSIX 2" and a bare "NT LM 0.12" string) then the setting of the per packet flag smb_flag FLAG_CASELESS_PATHNAMES is taken into account per packet. This allows the linux CIFS client to use Samba in a case sensitive manner. Additional command in smbclient "case_sensitive", toggles the flag in subsequent packets. Docs to follow. Jeremy. (This used to be commit cf84c0fe1a061acc0313f7db124b8f947cdf623d)
2007-10-10r1122: As spotted by lha@stacken.kth.se we don't actually use this variable ↵Andrew Bartlett1-2/+0
any more. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 9d5821d5ee5e9f666dfbe75419e97508af9cad5e)
2007-10-10r1117: Doh ! Remember to turn off signing when sending a "break to level II" ↵Jeremy Allison1-1/+9
oplock message, or we mess up the signing sequence number.... Also improve sign error reporting. Also when deferring an open that had been deferred due to an oplock break, don't re-add the mid to the pending sign queue or we increment the sequence number twice and mess up signing again... I can now bounce between 2 WinXP/Win2003 boxes opening Excel spreadsheets with signing turned on and get correct "file in use" messages. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 1745ce4e2cf7fcb4c27c077973258d157cd241b1)
2007-10-10r1115: Fix for #1427. Catch bad path errors at the right point. Ensure allJeremy Allison6-78/+177

2007-10-10r1093: Ensure we clear any cached errors on a deferred open call soJeremy Allison4-0/+20
we don't return the wrong error code on the next packet. Jeremy. (This used to be commit c1b06deb574d7b8e746bdf0d6f0eab16848a6cc1)
2007-10-10r1089: Removed spurious oplock message in deferred open processing.Jeremy Allison3-5/+17
Fix smb signing sequence counts. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 7e2a5c36614282b6bd50b60360f443549426dd4b)
2007-10-10r1085: Now it's had some proper user testing, merge in the deferred open ↵Jeremy Allison8-47/+521
fix. I'm still doing more testing, but it fixes a behaviour that we've been wrong on ever since the start of Samba. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 894cc6d16296b934c112786eec896846156aee5d)
2007-10-10r1011: fix bad merge (from a few months ago) and ensure that we always use ↵Gerald Carter2-6/+6
tdb_open_log() instead of tdb_open_ex() (This used to be commit e65564ab4aa1240e84b8d272510aa770cad0ed0e)
2007-10-10r998: Arrrgggh. Do it right this time :-(.Jeremy Allison1-3/+3

2007-10-10r974: Fix open code to pass more torture tests. We now pass the Samba4Jeremy Allison1-28/+87
oplock test. We do this be changing the algorithm when breaking oplocks slightly. Previously we broke an oplock, then re-loaded the share modes and re-iterated. Now we break all oplocks, then re-load the share modes and check the share details - then iterate. This seems to match the way Win2k3 does it. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 5ec4f4e4e6596ea0f52aca5c9e1a75bf35612e37)
2007-10-10r971: Auto remove store dos attributes if underlying filesystemJeremy Allison2-11/+26

2007-10-10r957: Fixup moribund unix extensions mknod code path. Don't add inJeremy Allison1-2/+3
configure test yet. Also allow unix domain socket create. Jeremy. (This used to be commit 2db0c4ca7b23cdd1dbf83d4de58acbf4dc118df2)
2007-10-10r945: "Correct" (as in, more correct) way to handle stat opens. Doesn't regressJeremy Allison1-22/+25
the torture tester. Passes OPEN tests in Samba3 and Samba4 and oplock tests in Samba4. Last thing to check, can an "attribute only" open actually create a file. I think it can.... Jeremy. (This used to be commit d8177a42d4a2a2b6df5d0593f2f92bddc29ffe94)
2007-10-10r942: If using DOS error codes, we need to return ERRDOS/ERRbadpath for ↵Volker Lendecke1-1/+1
chkpth even if only the last component failed. I'm not sure if all the other cases of NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND also need to be fixed, this at least helps with 'copy test1.txt test2.txt' from DOS within a subdirectory. Yes, I do have someone who needs this :-) Jeremy, could you take a look at this? Thanks, Volker (This used to be commit 3093ab100653782bd8e029170d315c68b7f271af)
2007-10-10r933: When using widelinks = no, use realpath to canonicalize theJeremy Allison3-2/+41
