void message_register(int msg_type, void (*fn)(int msg_type, struct process_id pid, - void *buf, size_t len)) + void *buf, size_t len, + void *private_data), + void *private_data) { struct dispatch_fns *dfn; So this adds a (so far unused) private pointer that is passed from message_register to the message handler. A prerequisite to implement a tiny samba4-API compatible wrapper around our messaging system. That itself is necessary for the Samba4 notify system. Yes, I know, I could import the whole Samba4 messaging system, but I want to do it step by step and I think getting notify in is more important in this step. 2007-10-10r14898: This change is an attempt to improve the quality of the information thatJames Peach1-0/+43
is produced when a process exits abnormally. First, we coalesce the core dumping code so that we greatly improve our odds of being able to produce a core file, even in the case of a memory fault. I've removed duplicates of dump_core() and split it in two to reduce the amount of work needed to actually do the dump. Second, we refactor the exit_server code path to always log an explanation and a stack trace. My goal is to always produce enough log information for us to be able to explain any server exit, though there is a risk that this could produce too much log information on a flaky network. Finally, smbcontrol has gained a smbd fault injection operation to test the changes above. This is only enabled for developer builds. (This used to be commit 56bc02d64498eb3faf89f0c5452b9299daea8e95)

lp_load() could not be called multiple times to modify parameter settings based on reading from multiple configuration settings. Each time, it initialized all of the settings back to their defaults before reading the specified configuration file. This patch adds a parameter to lp_load() specifying whether the settings should be initialized. It does, however, still force the settings to be initialized the first time, even if the request was to not initialize them. (Not doing so could wreak havoc due to uninitialized values.) 1. using smbc_getxattr() et al, one may now request all access control entities in the ACL without getting all other NT attributes. 2. added the ability to exclude specified attributes from the result set provided by smbc_getxattr() et al, when requesting all attributes, all NT attributes, or all DOS attributes. 3. eliminated all compiler warnings, including when --enable-developer compiler flags are in use. removed -Wcast-qual flag from list, as that is specifically to force warnings in the case of casting away qualifiers. Note: In the process of eliminating compiler warnings, a few nasties were discovered. In the file libads/sasl.c, PRIVATE kerberos interfaces are being used; and in libsmb/clikrb5.c, both PRIAVE and DEPRECATED kerberos interfaces are being used. Someone who knows kerberos should look at these and determine if there is an alternate method of accomplishing the task. (This used to be commit 994694f7f26da5099f071e1381271a70407f33bb)

"qualifiers". The whole of samba comiles warning-free with the default compiler flags. Temporarily defined -Wall to locate other potential problems. Found an unused static function (#ifdefed out rather than deleted, in case it's needed for something in progress). There are also a number of uses of undeclared functions, mostly krb5_*. Files with these problems need to have appropriate header files included, but they are not fixed in this update. oplock_linux.c.c has undefined functions capget() and capset(), which need to have "#undef _POSIX_SOURCE" specified before including <sys/capability.h>, but that could potentially have other side effects, so that remains uncorrected as well. The flag -Wall should be added permanently to CFLAGS, and all warnings then generated should be eliminated. (This used to be commit 5b19ede88ed80318e392f8017f4573fbb2ecbe0f)
