version.h changes rather frequently. Since it is included via includes.h, this means each C file will be a cache miss. This applies to the following situations: * When building a new package with a new Samba version * building in a git branch after calling mkversion.sh after a new commit (i.e. virtually always) This patch improves the situation in the following way: * remove inlude "version.h" from includes.h * Use samba_version_string() instead of SAMBA_VERSION_STRING in files that use no other macro from version.h instead of SAMBA_VERSION_STRING. * explicitly include "version.h" in those files that use more macros from "version.h" than just SAMBA_VERSION_STRING. This API is unusual in that if used to remove a non-list head it nulls out the next and prev pointers. This is what you want for debugging (don't want an entry removed from the list to be still virtually linked into it) but means there is no consistent idiom for use as the next and prev pointers get trashed on removal from the list, meaning you must save them yourself. You can use it one way when deleting everything via the head pointer, as this preserves the next pointer, but you *must* use it another way when not deleting everything via the head pointer. Fix all known uses of this (the main one is in conn_free_internal() and would not free all the private data entries for vfs modules. The other changes in web/statuspage.c and winbindd_util.c are not strictly neccessary, as the head pointer is being used, but I've done them for consistency. Long term we must revisit this as this API is too hard to use correctly. Jeremy.

for utimes - change the call to ntimes. This preserves nsec timestamps we get from stat (if the system supports it) and only maps back down to usec or sec resolution on time set. of the Samba4 timezone handling code back into Samba3. Gets rid of "kludge-gmt" and removes the effectiveness of the parameter "time offset" (I can add this back in very easily if needed) - it's no longer being looked at. I'm hoping this will fix the problems people have been having with DST transitions. I'll start comprehensive testing tomorrow, but for now all modifications are done. Splits time get/set functions into srv_XXX and cli_XXX as they need to look at different timezone offsets. Get rid of much of the "efficiency" cruft that was added to Samba back in the day when the C library timezone handling functions were slow. Jeremy. TO enable configure with --with-i18n-swat to support this gettext is integrated and a new directories name "po" and "intl" are created. now these languages are supported: en - English (default) ja - Japanese po - Polish tr - Turkish To add your language, to create ${your_language}.po by translating source/po/en.po into your language is needed. some of html and image files of various language version are not included yet, though message catalogue files are installed. you need to copy files manually under ${swatdir}/lang/$ln/{help,images,included,using_samba} And also added a option to intall manual pages: of various lang version To enable configure with --with-manlangs but manual pages themself are not included yet.
