2007-10-10r12498: Eliminate INIT_OBJ_FILES and ADD_OBJ_FILES. We were not usingJelmer Vernooij1-10/+7
the difference between these at all, and in the future the fact that INIT_OBJ_FILES include smb_build.h will be sufficient to have recompiles at the right time. (This used to be commit b24f2583edee38abafa58578d8b5c4b43e517def)
2007-10-10r12254: Add some (hopefully correct) descriptions for libraries that are ↵Jelmer Vernooij1-0/+1
installed. Install pkg-config files. (This used to be commit a86abe84e2cae7c6188c094a92c6b62aace02fdf)
2007-10-10r11596: switched the libcli/raw/ code over to using the lib/stream/ genericAndrew Tridgell1-0/+1
packet parsing code. This simplifies the logic in the raw client library a fair bit (This used to be commit f8d43f1f67876360e1295d85a3c3702d1d60ed7b)
2007-10-10r11385: Fix issues in module.c. Calling function should pass in pathJelmer Vernooij1-4/+2
to directory rather then subsystem name now. (This used to be commit 2a868ab3b57f64a27416c7a24c8d1ae112fc0c53)
2007-10-10r11382: Require number of required M4 macrosJelmer Vernooij1-0/+1
Make MODULE handling a bit more like BINARY, LIBRARY and SUBSYSTEM Add some more PUBLIC_HEADERS (This used to be commit 875eb8f4cc658e6aebab070029fd499a726ad520)
2007-10-10r11377: Add support for building LIBRARY elements as shared libraries:Jelmer Vernooij1-1/+4
- Adds -rpath bin/ so you don't have to install Samba in order to use compiled binaries. - Writes out pkg-config files when building shared libs - Supports automatic fallback to MERGEDOBJ (which is the default) or OBJ_LIST (if ld -r is not supported) Building with shared libs reduces the size of the Samba binaries from 197 Mb to 60 Mb (including libraries) on my system (GCC4, with debugging). To build with shared libraries support enabled, run: LIBRARY_OUTPUT_TYPE=SHARED_LIBRARY ./config.status init functions don't get called correctly yet when using shared libs, so you won't be able to actually run anything with success :-) Once init functions are done, I'll look at support for loading shared modules once again. Based on a patch by Peter Novodvorsky (nidd on IRC). (This used to be commit 0b54405685674a2b19a28d77aae5b1136b5a4728)
2007-10-10r11304: Add support back in for loading shared modules (not used yet)Jelmer Vernooij1-0/+3
(This used to be commit 90f49b6f70c4aaf0e4ab4fad2e6f9caeb0f6f3a6)
2007-10-10r11244: Relative path names in .mk filesJelmer Vernooij1-36/+52
(This used to be commit 24e10300906c380919d2d631bfb3b8fd6b3f54ba)
2007-10-10r10596: Move the credentials code into it's own subsystem, and push it under ↵Andrew Bartlett1-2/+1
auth/ Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 2e76a4b8efd59c496d64241d654538d3222545c6)
2007-10-10r10330: Add SConscript to more subsystems. Some of the tdb tools build now.Jelmer Vernooij1-2/+5
Start on custom Samba scons tools (for handling proto generation, pidl, etc) (This used to be commit 4bffe4435944fffa3f9680b5a2fe63f2bdd98003)
2007-10-10r10246: Remove unused functionJelmer Vernooij1-3/+0

2007-10-10r9421: Move arcfour code into it's own file, in lib/crypto.Andrew Bartlett1-1/+2
Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit ca6cf462708810637544d4b4bef0f404fb89a002)
2007-10-10r8940: Add TDR (Trivial Data Representation). The aim is to use this later forJelmer Vernooij1-0/+3
NBT/WINS/etc rather then having to depend on NDR. (This used to be commit 5ee7af26dd220de06f1764cd1683abedeeda5131)
2007-10-10r7827: Add in-memory keytab to Samba4, using the new MEMORY_WILDCARD keytabAndrew Bartlett1-1/+0
support in Heimdal. This removes the 'ext_keytab' step from my Samba4/WinXP client howto. In doing this work, I realised that the replay cache in Heimdal is currently a no-op, so I have removed the calls to it, and therefore the mutex calls from passdb/secrets.c. This patch also includes a replacement 'magic' mechanism detection, that does not issue extra error messages from deep inside the GSSAPI code. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit c19d5706f4fa760415b727b970bc99e7f1abd064)
2007-10-10r7352: the internal heimdal build change. This changes quite a few things:Andrew Tridgell1-9/+0
- if you want kerberos now, you need to unpack a lorikeet heimdal tree in source/heimdal/. If source/heimdal/ does not exist at configure time then all kerberos features are disabled. You cannot use an external kerberos library for now. That may change later. - moved lib/replace/ config stuff to lib/replace/ and create a lib/replace/replace.h. That allows the heimdal build to use our portability layer, and prevenets duplicate definitions of functions like strlcat() - if you do enable heimdal, then you will need to do 'make HEIMDAL_EXTERNAL' before you build Samba. That should be fixed once I explain the problem to jelmer (the problem is the inability to set a depend without also dragging in the object list of the dependency. We need this for building the heimdal asn1 compiler and et compiler. - disabled all of the m4 checks for external kerberos libraries. I left them in place in auth/kerberos/, but disabled it in configure.in some of the heimdal_build/ code is still very rough, for example I don't correctly detect the correct awk, flex, bison replacements for heimdal_build/build_external.sh. I expect to fix that stuff up over the next few days. (This used to be commit d4648249b2c7fc8b5e7c0fc8d8f92ae043b5691f)
2007-10-10r7166: Move replacement stuff to seperate directoryJelmer Vernooij1-6/+10
(easier to add win32-specific bits later) Trim LIBBASIC a bit more (This used to be commit fc7f519e4ae2051e9515df5f549c8e1842b7e70b)
2007-10-10r6863: lib-friendlier names + fix some dependenciesJelmer Vernooij1-1/+1
(This used to be commit cab81a51bfd435b54e6f0d5a308aaf6828d38c00)
2007-10-10r6573: Start on my project to implement an NT4 compatible BDC in Samba4.Andrew Bartlett1-0/+9
This brings in a compatability layer for Samba3 in Samba4 - where we will start to define file formats and similar details. The 'net samdump' command uses 'password server = ' for now, and performs a similar task to Samba3's 'net rpc samsync'. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 550f17f9924fe783917318753de7d1a388423908)
2007-10-10r6139: Move socket_wrapper to a seperate directoryJelmer Vernooij1-8/+0
(This used to be commit a2ef9225f15e369af7b884262b997ab321fd24d6)
2007-10-10r6129: - add our own MSZIP decompression implementationStefan Metzmacher1-0/+8
(taken from cabextract.c from KDE) this code maybe need to be rewritten and the compression side needs to be done, but for now it seems to works - remove the dependency to zlib metze (This used to be commit 5e8558c5b4365a494aa054c3e08d4084b319e6e5)
2007-10-10r6088: Add the socket_wrapper library. This is a very simple library thatJelmer Vernooij1-1/+10
redirects traffic (currently just IP traffic) over unix domain sockets if the SOCKET_WRAPPER_DIR environment variable has been set. Aim is to use this for the Samba4 torture suite on the buildfarm. The socket_wrapper library can only be used if Samba was compiled with --enable-developer. test_rpc.sh passes against a local smbd with SOCKET_WRAPPER_DIR set. (and ethereal showed no traffic whatsoever) Stuff that still needs to be fixed in socketwrapper: - Give ENETUNREACH if target is not localhost - A given port number can only be used for UDP /or/ TCP, not both. - Perhaps allow some calls to circumvent socketwrapper (do we need DNS?) (This used to be commit f8a63a843ccca092d9756b64e09175d37c08550a)
2007-10-10r5988: Fix the -P option (use machine account credentials) to use the Samba4Andrew Bartlett1-0/+2
secrets system, and not the old system from Samba3. This allowed the code from auth_domain to be shared - we now only lookup the secrets.ldb in lib/credentials.c. In order to link the resultant binary, samdb_search() has been moved from deep inside rpc_server into lib/gendb.c, along with the existing gendb_search_v(). The vast majority of this patch is the simple rename that followed, (Depending on the whole SAMDB for just this function seemed pointless, and brought in futher dependencies, such as smbencrypt.c). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit e13c671619bd290a8b3cae8555cb281a9a185ee0)
2007-10-10r5917: First step in using the new cli_credentials structure. This patchJelmer Vernooij1-2/+2
puts support for it into popt_common, adds a few utility functions (in lib/credentials.c) and the callback functions for the command-line (lib/cmdline/credentials.c). Comments are welcome :-) (This used to be commit 1d49b57c50fe8c2683ea23e9df41ce8ad774db98)
2007-10-10r5871: Remove file with unused function (that uses fstring)Jelmer Vernooij1-1/+0
Remove fstring usage from version.c (This used to be commit d25163159c19d6f948551438f459d161ba6ea4ac)
2007-10-10r5197: moved events code to lib/events/ (suggestion from metze)Andrew Tridgell1-9/+0
(This used to be commit 7f54c8a339f36aa43c9340be70ab7f0067593ef2)
2007-10-10r5185: make all the events data structures private to events.c. This willAndrew Tridgell1-1/+9
make it possible to add optimisations to the events code such as keeping the next timed event in a sorted list, and using epoll for file descriptor events. I also removed the loop events code, as it wasn't being used anywhere, and changed timed events to always be one-shot (as adding a new timed event in the event handler is so easy to do if needed) (This used to be commit d7b4b6de51342a65bf46fce772d313f92f8d73d3)
2007-10-10r5053: - fix up the library dependencies so that tools that need nbt don'tAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
need to pull in the whole dcerpc subsystem - moved smbencrypt.c code into libcli/auth/ (This used to be commit 3351c636af23ad88649e84f4cb88fc1167d5c654)
2007-10-10r4898: - removed the unused wins_srv_*() codeAndrew Tridgell1-1/+0
- expanded the generic async name resolver to try multiple methods - added wins resolutions to the list of methods tried - fixed up the random trn id generation to use the good random generator (This used to be commit 266fd2751c01808e5a18d4094032af50554ceb7a)
2007-10-10r4473: - moved talloc into its own lib/talloc/ areaAndrew Tridgell1-2/+1
- added gcov flags to Makefile.talloc - expanded talloc testsuite to add a test for realloc with a child ptr - fixed a bug in talloc_realloc() with realloc of a ptr that has child ptrs (This used to be commit 98b5f73c1ba34d7576c5995069b485c1c5ede324)
2007-10-10r3972: use GUID_* naming context and move GUID_* functions to one placeStefan Metzmacher1-1/+0
metze (This used to be commit 523e6acf4fec5d4946fa7c0c89f40d7d712c9f3a)
2007-10-10r3810: create a LIB_SECURITY subsystemStefan Metzmacher1-3/+1
- move dom_sid, security_descriptor, security_* funtions to one place and rename some of them metze (This used to be commit b620bdd672cfdf0e009492e648b0709e6b6d8596)
2007-10-10r3737: - Get rid of the register_subsystem() and register_backend() functions.Jelmer Vernooij1-1/+0
- Re-disable tdbtool (it was building fine on my Debian box but other machines were having problems) (This used to be commit 0d7bb2c40b7a9ed59df3f8944133ea562697e814)
2007-10-10r3733: More build system fixes/features:Jelmer Vernooij1-5/+5
- Use .mk files directly (no need for a SMB_*_MK() macro when adding a new SUBSYSTEM, MODULE or BINARY). This allows addition of new modules and subsystems without running configure - Add support for generating .dot files with the Samba4 dependency tree (as used by the graphviz and springgraph utilities) (This used to be commit 64826da834e26ee0488674e27a0eae36491ee179)
2007-10-10r3507: - added deferred replies on sharing violation in pvfs open. TheAndrew Tridgell1-1/+2
deferred reply is short-circuited immediately when the file is closed by another user, allowing it to be opened by the waiting user. - added a sane set of timeval manipulation routines - converted all the events code and code that uses it to use struct timeval instead of time_t, which allows for microsecond resolution instead of 1 second resolution. This was needed for doing the pvfs deferred open code, and is why the patch is so big. (This used to be commit 0d51511d408d91eb5f68a35e980e0875299b1831)
2007-10-10r3462: separate out the crypto includesAndrew Tridgell1-5/+14
(This used to be commit 3f75117db921e493bb77a5dc14b8ce91a6288f30)
2007-10-10r3443: the next stage in the include files re-organisation.Andrew Tridgell1-3/+11
I have created the include/system/ directory, which will contain the wrappers for the system includes for logical subsystems. So far I have created include/system/kerberos.h and include/system/network.h, which contain all the system includes for kerberos code and networking code. These are the included in subsystems that need kerberos or networking respectively. Note that this method avoids the mess of #ifdef HAVE_XXX_H in every C file, instead each C module includes the include/system/XXX.h file for the logical system support it needs, and the details are kept isolated in include/system/ This patch also creates a "struct ipv4_addr" which replaces "struct in_addr" in our code. That avoids every C file needing to import all the system networking headers. (This used to be commit 2e25c71853f8996f73755277e448e7d670810349)
2007-10-10r3223: continue the effort on LIBREPLACE to try to get the ldb tools toAndrew Tridgell1-1/+2
compile on platforms like solaris without having to link to the whole of the Samba4 lib directory. (This used to be commit f6862bfc1cbc9278914b4b73365f63d3da0a08dd)
2007-10-10r3210: split lib/replace.o into a separate build subsystem LIBREPLACE, andAndrew Tridgell1-2/+8
make the ldb tools depend on it. This should help the build of the ldb tools on platforms without strnlen() or strndup() (This used to be commit e6ddb9d8f3a218b22b0176a2525b5daaca7170e4)
2007-10-10r3058: we don't use the bitmap code any more, delete itAndrew Tridgell1-1/+0
(This used to be commit 2b0554b3b598accb1b2ddade1bf17fa2cc2cb05b)
2007-10-10r3057: - moved the idtree.c code into lib/Andrew Tridgell1-1/+2
- converted the tid handling to use a idtree instead of bitmaps (This used to be commit 4220914179d10132057216650b65ed7f7679717e)
2007-10-10r3014: got rid of the old intra-smbd messaging system in preparation for the ↵Andrew Tridgell1-3/+0
new one (This used to be commit 283e38aeb210e048302dc2759a75879cfc81eeb5)
2007-10-10r3005: added talloc wrappers around tdb_open() and ldb_connect(), so that theAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
caller doesn't have to worry about the constraint of only opening a database a single time in a process. These wrappers will ensure that only a single open is done, and will auto-close when the last instance is gone. When you are finished with a database pointer, use talloc_free() to close it. note that this code does not take account of the threads process model, and does not yet take account of symlinks or hard links to tdb files. (This used to be commit 04e1171996612ddb15f84134cadded68f0d173b2)
2007-10-10r3004: removed some unused functionsAndrew Tridgell1-1/+0
(This used to be commit 247421ee648d1935b68a47195fe1709bb861a7d5)
2007-10-10r2857: this commit gets rid of smb_ucs2_t, wpstring and fpstring, plus lots ↵Andrew Tridgell1-0/+1
of associated functions. The motivation for this change was to avoid having to convert to/from ucs2 strings for so many operations. Doing that was slow, used many static buffers, and was also incorrect as it didn't cope properly with unicode codepoints above 65536 (which could not be represented correctly as smb_ucs2_t chars) The two core functions that allowed this change are next_codepoint() and push_codepoint(). These functions allow you to correctly walk a arbitrary multi-byte string a character at a time without converting the whole string to ucs2. While doing this cleanup I also fixed several ucs2 string handling bugs. See the commit for details. The following code (which counts the number of occuraces of 'c' in a string) shows how to use the new interface: size_t count_chars(const char *s, char c) { size_t count = 0; while (*s) { size_t size; codepoint_t c2 = next_codepoint(s, &size); if (c2 == c) count++; s += size; } return count; } (This used to be commit 814881f0e50019196b3aa9fbe4aeadbb98172040)
2007-10-10r1198: Merge the Samba 3.0 ntlm_auth, including the kerberos and SPENGO parts.Andrew Bartlett1-1/+2
I have moved the SPNEGO and Kerberos code into libcli/auth, and intend to refactor them into the same format as NTLMSSP. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 58da78a7460d5d0a4abee7d7b84799c228e6bc0b)
