2007-10-10r18183: - add LIBREPLACE globaly and add LIBREPLACE_HOSTCCStefan Metzmacher1-0/+9
- also specify USE_HOSTCC = YES on binaries that use HOSTCC I also disable autodependecies as this change let make run forever, I hopefully fix that tomorrow metze (This used to be commit 159f74570233a8707dc1deb70fb1917a854213f8)

2007-10-10r18121: Simplify m4 code, hopefully fix Samba4 build problems.Jelmer Vernooij1-1/+1

2007-10-10r18031: Merge my replace fixes:Jelmer Vernooij1-0/+1
* libreplace can now build stand-alone * add stub testsuite for libreplace * make talloc/tdb/ldb use libreplace (This used to be commit fe7ca4b1454e01a33ed0d53791ebffdd349298b4)
2007-10-10r17790: replace uses -ldl and should directly depend on itStefan Metzmacher1-1/+1
metze (This used to be commit 560a3058e53479133015d1b0a7cd149393c45438)
2007-10-10r17750: these have moved to ldb/replace/ nowAndrew Tridgell1-1/+0
(This used to be commit ac178b52935d7629f8583092e833b74093ca70e1)
2007-10-10r15953: our timegm() replacement still doesn't work, so grab the one fromAndrew Tridgell1-0/+1
Heimdal which does work. This should fix most of the rest of the failures on solaris (This used to be commit acfaa98b5ea686feb81350baf09b3f4480f96edc)
2007-10-10r15295: Fix some dependenciesJelmer Vernooij1-4/+0
Move unistr-specific code to lib/charset/. Remove _m from some places where it's not needed. (This used to be commit 03224e112424968fc3f547c6159c7ccae2d1aa5b)
2007-10-10r15207: Introduce PRIVATE_DEPENDENCIES and PUBLIC_DEPENDENCIES as replacementJelmer Vernooij1-1/+1
for REQUIRED_SUBSYSTEMS. (This used to be commit adc8a019b6da256f104abed1b82bfde6998a2ac9)
2007-10-10r14477: Remove the NOPROTO property - it's no longer used as proto.h is gone.Jelmer Vernooij1-2/+0
(This used to be commit 9c37f847d32d2f327a88c53a90af0c73126b76be)
2007-10-10r14349: Kill proto.h!Jelmer Vernooij1-0/+4
Prototypes are now spread over multiple headers, usually one per subsystem. This change is required to allow proper header dependencies later on, without recompiling Samba each time the mtime of any source file changes. (This used to be commit 3da79bf909f801386a52e6013db399c384d0401c)
2007-10-10r12592: Remove some useless dependenciesJelmer Vernooij1-2/+2
(This used to be commit ca8db1a0cd77682ac2c6dc4718f5d753a4fcc4db)
2007-10-10r12498: Eliminate INIT_OBJ_FILES and ADD_OBJ_FILES. We were not usingJelmer Vernooij1-3/+2
the difference between these at all, and in the future the fact that INIT_OBJ_FILES include smb_build.h will be sufficient to have recompiles at the right time. (This used to be commit b24f2583edee38abafa58578d8b5c4b43e517def)
2007-10-10r11244: Relative path names in .mk filesJelmer Vernooij1-4/+4
(This used to be commit 24e10300906c380919d2d631bfb3b8fd6b3f54ba)
2007-10-10r10438: Move portability functions to lib/replace/; replace now simply ensuresJelmer Vernooij1-1/+3
that a given set of (working) POSIX functions are available (without prefixes to their names, etc). See lib/replace/README for a list. Functions that behave different from their POSIX specification (such as sys_select, sys_read, etc) have kept the sys_ prefix. (This used to be commit 29919a71059b29fa27a49b1f5b84bb8881de65fc)
2007-10-10r8746: replace opendir/readdir/telldir/seekdir/closedir on systems where theyAndrew Tridgell1-1/+11
are broken (apparently all BSD systems). This breakage leads to unlink on files in an open directory causing a later seekdir to miss files. The bug happens due to a block boundary bug in the BSD libc implementation of these calls. This replacement code also fixes a severe memory usage problem with telldir that can cause closedir() to take an arbitrary amount of time. I have reported the bug in readdir to Greg Lehey (a FreeBSD maintainer) (This used to be commit e1bf7c4279fbc03a52497d24cea375e75059cba1)
2007-10-10r7352: the internal heimdal build change. This changes quite a few things:Andrew Tridgell1-0/+9
- if you want kerberos now, you need to unpack a lorikeet heimdal tree in source/heimdal/. If source/heimdal/ does not exist at configure time then all kerberos features are disabled. You cannot use an external kerberos library for now. That may change later. - moved lib/replace/ config stuff to lib/replace/ and create a lib/replace/replace.h. That allows the heimdal build to use our portability layer, and prevenets duplicate definitions of functions like strlcat() - if you do enable heimdal, then you will need to do 'make HEIMDAL_EXTERNAL' before you build Samba. That should be fixed once I explain the problem to jelmer (the problem is the inability to set a depend without also dragging in the object list of the dependency. We need this for building the heimdal asn1 compiler and et compiler. - disabled all of the m4 checks for external kerberos libraries. I left them in place in auth/kerberos/, but disabled it in configure.in some of the heimdal_build/ code is still very rough, for example I don't correctly detect the correct awk, flex, bison replacements for heimdal_build/build_external.sh. I expect to fix that stuff up over the next few days. (This used to be commit d4648249b2c7fc8b5e7c0fc8d8f92ae043b5691f)
