name the module. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 2e85b1583b3da95db9b5b724b38748ff7d1f9efd)
2007-10-10r21740: this fixes the real cause of the large log files we had. The problemAndrew Tridgell1-0/+17
was we were not checking the result of a convert_string() call, and it was giving -1. We then passed -1 to fwrite() on stdout, which on aix and macosx wrote all of available memory to stdout :) To fix this, replace non-printing chars with ? in d_printf if the string cannot be converted (This used to be commit d20102d363f4b9214e29296ad8ec45c8d95614b5)
2007-10-10r21736: Fix the smbclient test to do something more interesting with the lastAndrew Bartlett1-0/+3
few authentication tests. Now that the tests correctly 'fail', I was able to fix the credentials subsystem to honour USER and PASSWD. To get --machine-pass working, I needed ldb to always load it's static modules, so I put this in ldb_connect(). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 3430d8c072407a1c33c32229095fc9db2142b6fa)
2007-10-10r21729: Some more testsJelmer Vernooij2-6/+29

2007-10-10r21722: Add the dead record functionality presented on ↵Volker Lendecke4-6/+187
samba-technical@samba.org. If you do a tdb_set_max_dead(tdb, n), then for this tdb a delete operation will only mark a record as dead and re-use it if a new record is created. The parameter n allows for at most n dead records per hash chain. If this number is exceeded, all dead records are put on the central freelist. Volker (This used to be commit 98a27ab28a3cd554e370a9a0e3652f4dea8749e9)
2007-10-10r21707: Finally merge my (long-living) perlselftest branch.Jelmer Vernooij1-3/+3
This changes the main selftest code to be in perl rather than in shell script. The selftest script is now no longer a black box but a regular executable that takes --help. This adds the following features: * "make test TESTS=foo" will run only the tests that match the regex "foo" * ability to deal with expected failures. the suite will not warn about tests that fail and are known to fail, but will warn about other failing tests and tests that are succeeding tests but incorrectly marked as failing. * ability to print a summary with all failures at the end of the run It also opens up the way to the following features, which I hope to implement later: * "environments", for example having a complete domains with DCs and domain members in a testenvironment * only set up smbd if necessary (not when running LOCAL tests, for example) * different mktestsetup scripts per target. except for the mktestsetup script, we can use the same infrastructure for samba 3 or windows. (This used to be commit 38f867880beb40c691e9713f854426031310629c)

2007-10-10r21683: Remove the gconf registry backend.Jelmer Vernooij3-222/+0
It's already been disabled for a while, as it required some compile flags that broke other things. While this backend was an interesting proof-of-concept, this module doesn't really add any value. It's not possible to map between windows registry and gconf semantics and I can't think of any reason why you would want to do so. (This used to be commit 02481df3e8653ab366cb73d124e52bc9551bb717)

'phantom_root' flag in the search_options control - Add in support for LDB controls to the js layer - Test the behaviour - Implement support for the 'phantom_root' flag in the partitions module - Make the LDAP server set the 'phantom_root' flag in the search_options control - This replaces the global_catalog flag passed down as an opaque pointer - Rework the string-format control parsing function into ldb_parse_control_strings(), returning errors by ldb_errorstring() method, rather than with printf to stderr - Rework some of the ldb_control handling logic Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 2b3df7f38d7790358dbb4de1b8609bf794a351fb)

2007-10-10r21433: Get rid of the COM support code - it's not used and unmaintained. We canJelmer Vernooij1-26/+26
always bring it back if we need to. This code was getting in the way while refactoring. Add some tests for TDR. Get rid of typedef in lib/registry/tdr_regf.idl and fix the TDR code to be able to deal with it. (This used to be commit 1ad0f99a439f0d52a735b391bf9900d50171aca5)
2007-10-10r21412: The last patch also incremented the seqnum when tdb_store failed. ↵Volker Lendecke1-8/+10
Not as bad as not doing it at all, but needs fixing. Also simplify the logic, I had missed the "goto out" at the end of the function. Volker (This used to be commit ed30a0ff602d0a1d4409bee4faf12b6979b5f4b8)
2007-10-10r21410: We have to increment the sequence number also when tdb_update_hash()Volker Lendecke1-1/+1

2007-10-10r21303: As discussed on samba-technical: Change the static array for the ↵Volker Lendecke4-36/+96
in-memory mirrors of the hash chain locks to a dynamically allocated one. Jeremy, I count on you to revert it if the build farm freaks out, it's after midnight here :-) Volker (This used to be commit 7b5db2e472c7e27231fa432d3930789e708abd09)

2007-10-10r21233: first version of samba4 messaging using ctdb is working. This means weAndrew Tridgell1-9/+9
should now work on a real cluster, and not just a localhost simulator (This used to be commit f05072ad74fb08fd906bc500c5e89930bcc3387f)
2007-10-10r21230: added the hooks needed in the cluster layer and the messaging code forAndrew Tridgell1-0/+44
handling messages to remote nodes. Implemented dummy functions in the 'local' cluster backend for the messaging hooks, and modified the messaging layer to check if the destination is remote and redirect messages via the cluster layer (This used to be commit 4474552e8fb73efebef32ad8480d7fe9a1e379ef)
2007-10-10r21212: detect if the kernel does not support integrated epoll/aio when theAndrew Tridgell1-1/+11
event context is created. This allows the LOCAL-EVENT test to pass on systems with have libaio but not the necessary kernel patches (This used to be commit 2ff8abf0022824e6ae93019ee1b3391e651a8ee7)
2007-10-10r21174: many thanks to Paul Wayper for pointing out that C99 requires aAndrew Tridgell5-11/+18
matching va_end() for each va_copy(). This doesn't matter for most architectures, but there could be some obscure ones where it does matter. some of this should be ported to Samba3 (This used to be commit 21eb316473486cb6b73bb3ff9c5f3a44ecd57e4a)
2007-10-10r21171: fixed a bug related to recursive event handling.Andrew Tridgell4-11/+7
If this happens: - two sockets are readable, and select/epoll/aio returns both of them - read event on socket1 is called - inside that read event an event_loop_once is called, this returns that socket2 is readable - read event on socket2 is called - event_loop_once returns - top level event handler then calls read event on socket2 (as it still has that listed as readable) - read handler for socket2 returns zero byte read, which is interpreted as end of file - socket is incorrectly closed this happened with ctdb, but it could happen anywhere (just rarely). The fix is trivial - ensure we break out of the event loop when we have been called recursively. (This used to be commit e042002bb5ee8974220e1ade56b64389571f75a6)
2007-10-10r20989: don't mark epoll as set until after the io_submit() succeedsAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
this is part of the solution to LOCAL-EVENT on fort (This used to be commit 35f62bc12559e355d4ac73018afe255ea7c5866b)
2007-10-10r20984: Try to ensure we can't have sig_state dissapear before se.Andrew Bartlett1-0/+5
I think this happens when both are eventual children of the autofree context. (Trying to track down a valgrind error on fort). Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit aee751497ca738fa0de72dd0748590a74d5af2fd)
