2007-10-10r3550: fixed initial attribute on file create (inlusion of ↵Andrew Tridgell1-2/+4
FILE_ATTRIBUTE_ARCHIVE) (This used to be commit b07feaafd16e42e84ba51004a6a9d4a3cb8f9a37)
2007-10-10r3549: added support for DOS extended attribute lists (name/value pairs)Andrew Tridgell7-81/+212
stored in posix xattrs (This used to be commit bad6a88371264cffce2bf5d6ce904b7b357081de)
2007-10-10r3545: initial support for using extended attributes to hold extended dos ↵Andrew Tridgell9-32/+291
attributes of files. I decided to use IDL/NDR to encode the attribute, as it gives us a simple way to describe and extend the saved attributes. The xattr code needs to hook into quite a few more places in the pvfs code, but this at least gets the basics done. I will start encoding alternate data streams streams, DOS EAs etc soon using the same basic mechanism. I'll probably stick to "version 1" for the xattr.idl for quite a while even though it will be changing, as I don't expect anyone to be deploying this in production just yet. Once we have production users we will need to keep compatibility by supporting all the old version numbers in xattr.idl. (This used to be commit c54253ed1b7dce1d14f43e747da61089aea87094)
2007-10-10r3544: fixed some #include lines to make them more consistentAndrew Tridgell14-17/+14
(This used to be commit a1a0118bd3f1cae034a1c564d05c3aa8019ff932)
2007-10-10r3540: added testing of SMBntcancel in the open/open/close muxAndrew Tridgell4-12/+36
testing. Interestingly, w2k3 does not allow the cancel of an outstanding async open request, whereas it does allow the cancel of an outstanding async lock request. To support this I have changed the pvfs_wait interface to provide a enum on why the event is happening, so the callback can decide what to do. (This used to be commit f23d6a28008a13588cde24b5012ec21e488ac47a)
2007-10-10r3539: much nicer async open delay code.Andrew Tridgell2-97/+87
The previous code didn't handle the case where the file got renamed or deleted while waiting for the sharing violation delay. To handle this we need to make the 2nd open a full open call, including the name resolve call etc. Luckily this simplifies the logic. I also expanded the RAW-MUX test to include the case where we do open/open/open/close/close, with the 3rd open async, and that open gets retried after both the first close and the 2nd close, with the first retry failing and the 2nd retry working. The tests the "async reply after a async reply" logic in pvfs_open(). (This used to be commit eded2ad9c91f5ba587ef4f7f5f5a6dceb4b51ff3)
2007-10-10r3532: make sharing violation delay in pvfs configurable with ↵Andrew Tridgell3-3/+11
"posix:sharedelay = usecs" (This used to be commit c4758776491e5ed9f5b8c387226d1e75bc70eb2e)
2007-10-10r3531: add support for RAW_OPEN_MKNEW, RAW_OPEN_CREATE and RAW_OPEN_CTEMP in ↵Andrew Tridgell1-18/+91
pvfs (This used to be commit 1d2f0a55c1de01cbbf6552371584847223841bc3)

2007-10-10r3528: added support for the SMBntcancel() operation, which cancels anyAndrew Tridgell13-8/+142
outstanding async operation (triggering an immediate timeout). pvfs now passes the RAW-MUX test (This used to be commit 3423e2f41461d054067ef168b9b986f62cc8f77c)
2007-10-10r3522: added async support to most of the ntvfs_map_*() functions, allowing ↵Andrew Tridgell2-277/+430
functions like SMBopenx, SMBread and SMBwrite to be performed async (This used to be commit 9e80eb18ae8c4a4a8cdf2f32f0c869fbbc3832b4)
2007-10-10r3507: - added deferred replies on sharing violation in pvfs open. TheAndrew Tridgell7-71/+338
deferred reply is short-circuited immediately when the file is closed by another user, allowing it to be opened by the waiting user. - added a sane set of timeval manipulation routines - converted all the events code and code that uses it to use struct timeval instead of time_t, which allows for microsecond resolution instead of 1 second resolution. This was needed for doing the pvfs deferred open code, and is why the patch is so big. (This used to be commit 0d51511d408d91eb5f68a35e980e0875299b1831)
2007-10-10r3481: split out client.h and events.hAndrew Tridgell2-0/+2

2007-10-10r3360: improved the deletion of tmp files. smbd now puts all tmp files in ↵Andrew Tridgell2-4/+3
var/locks/smbd.tmp/ and deletes that dir on startup. (This used to be commit 7e942e7f1bd2c293a0e6648df43a96f8b8a2a295)
2007-10-10r3357: removed the need to use TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST in Samba4.Andrew Tridgell2-2/+2
We found a few months ago that TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST is extremely inefficient for large numbers of connections, due to a fundamental limitation in the way posix byte range locking is implemented. Rather than the nasty workaround we had for Samba3, we now have a single "cleanup tmp files" function that runs when smbd starts. That deletes the tmp tdbs, so TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST is not needed at all. (This used to be commit ffa285bc783c775a2d53a58fb691ca339e6c76ae)
2007-10-10r3353: don't reference dos.attrib unless its initialisedAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
(This used to be commit 498799e4260b1c5e2bfc4fac4cba1080e8ec0a04)
2007-10-10r3351: handle far more operations on open directory handles. pvfs was failingAndrew Tridgell3-2/+18
with a wxp client because of qfileinfo operations on directories failing with NT_STATUS_INVALID_HANDLE after the fstat() failed (as pvfs sets f->fd to -1 for directories) (This used to be commit 1993128cb1dbf49db6e3e0387996ecf2a14b8d76)
2007-10-10r3349: fixed more uninitialised variable problems with the nbench moduleAndrew Tridgell1-6/+15
(This used to be commit 915faf49350b29a46f39354cbac746455d70c92c)
2007-10-10r3347: fixed an uninitialised variable bug. Surprisingly hard to track down,Andrew Tridgell1-2/+8
as valgrind got a corrupt stack when trying to debug it. (This used to be commit 58cabaa7022e5521961551462d31fbd90e4183e4)
2007-10-10r3346: - simplified vfs_nbench.c a bit, by using req->async_state->ntvfs insideAndrew Tridgell1-74/+51
nbench_log() instead of declaring nprivates every time. - added correct async_setup pass-thru in nbench (This used to be commit 8d79bceeca4528ab31cff1adc7706faa075013ac)
2007-10-10r3337: remove debug code and reanable the reall logging:-)Stefan Metzmacher1-7/+3
metze (This used to be commit 00b285e5a815e6d53ede7d102dee4e5b79d47f52)
2007-10-10r3336: use a struct ntvfs_async_state to be able to do async chaning of ↵Stefan Metzmacher8-232/+508
ntvfs modules the idea is that a passthru module can use ntvfs_async_state_push() before calling ntvfs_next_*() and in the _send function it calls ntvfs_async_state_pop() and then call the upper layer send_fn itself - ntvfs_nbench is now fully async - the ntvfs_map_*() functions and the trans(2) mapping functions are not converted yet metze (This used to be commit fde64c0dc142b53d128c8ba09af048dc58d8ef3a)
2007-10-10r3323: more warning reductionsAndrew Tridgell2-34/+18
(This used to be commit 5921587ec26e4892efc678421277e4969417d7f5)
2007-10-10r3312: in the brlock code, we prevent lock stampedes by attempting to notAndrew Tridgell1-1/+3
wakeup all pending locks at once. This change means that we only trigger this anti-stampede code for write locks, as for pending read locks the correct behaviour is to stampede (as they will all succeed) (This used to be commit 8021d1d74207db1204139309592b9d2f80f2bd0e)
2007-10-10r3290: allow SID_ANONYMOUS ( "S-1-5-7" ) to be the users sidStefan Metzmacher1-1/+1
metze (This used to be commit 177afd4855c66f46c82899b46f030803be63d52a)
2007-10-10r3288: - updated the path processing in pvfs to pass the RAW-CHKPATH test. ThisAndrew Tridgell2-32/+52
rather extensive test reveals some really bizarre error code handling in w2k3. - extended and simplified the RAW-CHKPATH test, making it easier to read (note that Samba3 fails the new tests - jra may wish to look) - marked RAW-CHKPATH as pass for pvfs (This used to be commit 32dccf91cfa5b57f84dd6307720b3f45faa10ae0)
2007-10-10r3278: - rewrote the client side rpc connection code to use lib/socket/Andrew Tridgell1-2/+2
rather than doing everything itself. This greatly simplifies the code, although I really don't like the socket_recv() interface (it always allocates memory for you, which means an extra memcpy in this code) - fixed several bugs in the socket_ipv4.c code, in particular client side code used a non-blocking connect but didn't handle EINPROGRESS, so it had no chance of working. Also fixed the error codes, using map_nt_error_from_unix() - cleaned up and expanded map_nt_error_from_unix() - changed interpret_addr2() to not take a mem_ctx. It makes absolutely no sense to allocate a fixed size 4 byte structure like this. Dozens of places in the code were also using interpret_addr2() incorrectly (precisely because the allocation made no sense) (This used to be commit 7f2c771b0e0e98c5c9e5cf662592d64d34ff1205)
2007-10-10r3276: - allow for more than 256 open old style searches (limit currently ↵Andrew Tridgell2-14/+53
set at an arbitrary 5000) - auto-cleanup old searches that the client forgot to close (common with old searches) - expanded the RAW-SEARCH test to test more than 256 old searches, and old search rewind (w2k3 fails this - it appears to not support rewind on old style searches) (This used to be commit bc83d823b2140a10007490bf0101843a886f99a6)
2007-10-10r3271: use "struct messaging_context *" instead of "void *" in messaging APIAndrew Tridgell2-4/+4
(This used to be commit cc93813e4a09c538ad485dc2b3cb4c9be34f3d18)
2007-10-10r3268: - fixed wildcard handling in new dirlist codeAndrew Tridgell1-12/+41
- ensure that d_name from readdir is not used after closedir (This used to be commit 5352613342c58192ae00618977041b98cd0ff7b6)
2007-10-10r3262: - new pvfs_dirlist code that reopens the directory between searchAndrew Tridgell4-101/+176
calls. This is needed to allow for "new files appear during a search" behaviour - pvfs now passes RAW-SEARCH (This used to be commit 0d98f7653a1d58510a6cd4c2ac6c5e05c541109c)
2007-10-10r3260: redid the pvfs_dirlist() interface in preparation for a "keepAndrew Tridgell3-55/+79
directory open" implementation, as opposed to the "load the whole directory" interface used now. This will be needed to pass RAW-SEARCH (This used to be commit 692623c6c0a2c6817fddfa77cd1c2525c27145c4)
2007-10-10r3258: fixed "don't change" attribute for RAW_SFILEINFO_BASIC_INFOAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
(This used to be commit 51f84800d50f44ec47a34e1c922c6197eb794558)
2007-10-10r3255: - fixed 2 uninitialised data errors found with valgrindAndrew Tridgell1-1/+2
- fixed offset of setup words in nttrans reply (This used to be commit 86b5118c2ae605560a196ee014b6134ec2928c5b)
