2008-06-19Fix segfault caused by talloc_free() being called while still processingAndrew Bartlett1-2/+2
The problem here was that with the packet code set to serialise, we can have multiple packets 'processing' at once, and previously the second packet (allowed because we are spining on an event context down the stack) would clear the flag. complete. This is needed because messaging setup with ctdb involve events, and we don't want a SMB packet to be processed on this stream until after the stream structure is fully setup (This used to be commit 8e378051e594372dfb2c00a380ef4bc151021ea2)

2007-10-10r17197: This patch moves the encryption of bulk data on SASL negotiated securityAndrew Bartlett1-0/+5
contexts from the application layer into the socket layer. This improves a number of correctness aspects, as we now allow LDAP packets to cross multiple SASL packets. It should also make it much easier to write async LDAP tests from windows clients, as they use SASL by default. It is also vital to allowing OpenLDAP clients to use GSSAPI against Samba4, as it negotiates a rather small SASL buffer size. This patch mirrors the earlier work done to move TLS into the socket layer. Unusual in this pstch is the extra read callback argument I take. As SASL is a layer on top of a socket, it is entirely possible for the SASL layer to drain a socket dry, but for the caller not to have read all the decrypted data. This would leave the system without an event to restart the read (as the socket is dry). As such, I re-invoke the read handler from a timed callback, which should trigger on the next running of the event loop. I believe that the TLS code does require a similar callback. In trying to understand why this is required, imagine a SASL-encrypted LDAP packet in the following formation: +-----------------+---------------------+ | SASL Packet #1 | SASL Packet #2 | ----------------------------------------+ | LDAP Packet #1 | LDAP Packet #2 | ----------------------------------------+ In the old code, this was illegal, but it is perfectly standard SASL-encrypted LDAP. Without the callback, we would read and process the first LDAP packet, and the SASL code would have read the second SASL packet (to decrypt enough data for the LDAP packet), and no data would remain on the socket. Without data on the socket, read events stop. That is why I add timed events, until the SASL buffer is drained. Another approach would be to add a hack to the event system, to have it pretend there remained data to read off the network (but that is ugly). In improving the code, to handle more real-world cases, I've been able to remove almost all the special-cases in the testnonblock code. The only special case is that we must use a deterministic partial packet when calling send, rather than a random length. (1 + n/2). This is needed because of the way the SASL and TLS code works, and the 'resend on failure' requirements. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 5d7c9c12cb2b39673172a357092b80cd814850b0)

2007-10-10r12804: This patch reworks the Samba4 sockets layer to use a socket_addressAndrew Bartlett1-2/+13
structure that is more generic than just 'IP/port'. It now passes make test, and has been reviewed and updated by metze. (Thankyou *very* much). This passes 'make test' as well as kerberos use (not currently in the testsuite). The original purpose of this patch was to have Samba able to pass a socket address stucture from the BSD layer into the kerberos routines and back again. It also removes nbt_peer_addr, which was being used for a similar purpose. It is a large change, but worthwhile I feel. Andrew Bartlett (This used to be commit 88198c4881d8620a37086f80e4da5a5b71c5bbb2)

2007-10-10r7294: implemented the irpc messaging system. This is the core of theAndrew Tridgell1-0/+1
management system I proposed on samba-technical a couple of days ago. Essentially it is a very lightweight way for any code in Samba to make IDL based rpc calls to anywhere else in the code, without the client or server having to go to the trouble of setting up a full rpc service. It can be used with any of our existing IDL, but I expect it will mostly be used for a new set of Samba specific management calls. The LOCAL-IRPC torture test demonstrates how it can be used by calling the echo_AddOne() call over this transport. (This used to be commit 3d589a09954eb8b318f567e1150b0c27412fb942)

2007-10-10r5193: make sure we mark the event dead when we free it on a dead connectionAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1

2007-10-10r5185: make all the events data structures private to events.c. This willAndrew Tridgell1-20/+10
make it possible to add optimisations to the events code such as keeping the next timed event in a sorted list, and using epoll for file descriptor events. I also removed the loop events code, as it wasn't being used anywhere, and changed timed events to always be one-shot (as adding a new timed event in the event handler is so easy to do if needed) (This used to be commit d7b4b6de51342a65bf46fce772d313f92f8d73d3)
2007-10-10r5141: fix compiler warningsStefan Metzmacher1-1/+1
metze (This used to be commit 12b0841b30fdb6d7ba8c3dc9991c172f7fb3d31f)
2007-10-10r5108: the beginnings of a nbtd server for Samba4. Currently just displaysAndrew Tridgell1-1/+1
the packets it receives, but it at least shows how the server structure will work. To implement it I extended the libcli/nbt/ library to allow for an incoming packet handler to be registered. That allows the nbt client library to be used for low level processing of the nbtd server packets. Other changes: - made the socket library always set SO_REUSEADDR when binding to an interface, to ensure that restarts of a server don't have to wait for a couple of minutes. - made the nbt port configurable. Defaults to 137, but other ports will be useful for testing. (This used to be commit 2fedca6adfd4df9e85cc86896dfa79630777a917)
2007-10-10r5104: - added support for task based servers. These are servers that withinAndrew Tridgell1-2/+2
themselves are run as a single process, but run as a child of the main process when smbd is run in the standard model, and run as part of the main process when in the single mode. - rewrote the winbind template code to use the new task services. Also fixed the packet queueing - got rid of event_context_merge() as it is no longer needed (This used to be commit 339964a596689278d2138cff05d7d444798a3504)
2007-10-10r5103: forgot to add two new filesAndrew Tridgell1-0/+215
these are the stream server helper functions (This used to be commit 3c5a7650a9730d74503b759bccafbb0fa3bbce78)
