2013-07-10s3-smbstatus: display [u|g]id of -1 as "-1" in connection listBjörn Baumbach1-4/+20
In order to avoid displayed uid or gid of "4294967295" instead of "-1", we need to fetch the special case -1. The id can be -1 if we are reading e.g. incomplete session information. 2012-03-04s3-auth: Remove security=share (depricated since 3.6).Andrew Bartlett1-4/+0
This patch removes security=share, which Samba implemented by matching the per-share password provided by the client in the Tree Connect with a selection of usernames supplied by the client, the smb.conf or guessed from the environment. The rationale for the removal is that for the bulk of security=share users, we just we need a very simple way to run a 'trust the network' Samba server, where users mark shares as guest ok. This is still supported, and the smb.conf options are documented at https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Public_Samba_Server At the same time, this closes the door on one of the most arcane areas of Samba authentication. Naturally, full user-name/password authentication remain available in security=user and above. This includes documentation updates for username and only user, which now only do a small amount of what they used to do. 2012-01-18s3: Add a "lock_order" argument to db_openVolker Lendecke1-1/+2
This will be used to enforce a lock hierarchy between the databases. We have seen deadlocks between locking.tdb, brlock.tdb, serverid.tdb and notify*.tdb. These should be fixed by refusing a dbwrap_fetch_locked that does not follow a defined lock hierarchy.

2011-06-20tdb_traverse/tdb_traverse_read: check returns for negative, not -1.Rusty Russell1-1/+1
TDB2 returns a negative error number on failure. This is compatible if we always check for < 0 instead of == -1. Also, there's no tdb_traverse_read in TDB2: we don't try to make traverse reliable any more, so there are no write locks anyway. Signed-off-by: Rusty Russell <rusty@rustcorp.com.au>

2010-09-27Change to using TDB_INCOMPATIBLE_HASH (the jenkins hash) on allJeremy Allison1-1/+1
TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST tdb's. For tdb's like gencache where we open without CLEAR_IF_FIRST and then with CLEAR_IF_FIRST if corrupt this is still safe to use as if opening an existing tdb the new hash will be ignored - it's only used on creating a new tdb not opening an old one. Jeremy.

2009-01-15s3: make better use of ccache by not including version.h in every C-file.Michael Adam1-1/+1
version.h changes rather frequently. Since it is included via includes.h, this means each C file will be a cache miss. This applies to the following situations: * When building a new package with a new Samba version * building in a git branch after calling mkversion.sh after a new commit (i.e. virtually always) This patch improves the situation in the following way: * remove inlude "version.h" from includes.h * Use samba_version_string() instead of SAMBA_VERSION_STRING in files that use no other macro from version.h instead of SAMBA_VERSION_STRING. * explicitly include "version.h" in those files that use more macros from "version.h" than just SAMBA_VERSION_STRING.
